Join us for the 9th Annual Wheels & Grills Cook-off on September 15 & 16, 2023!

 

Wheels & Grills Cook-off is an annual two-day cook-off competition.

This barbecue battle includes multiple categories including the Great Steak cook-off, chicken, brisket, pork butt, ribs, salsa and drink competitions. Competitors square off over hot coals as they battle it out for the chance to be crowned top High Point Cooker earning $2500 in prize money.

​This year’s raffle item is a Cajun "Swamp" Kooler. $10 per ticket with proceeds benefiting Nocona Lucky Paws Animal Shelter. Tickets available at Peba Oil and Gas or during the cookoff.  The winner will be announced during the awards ceremony, and you need not be present to win.


 

 

The 5th Annual Ray Walker Memorial Cornhole Tournament takes place at 11 am on Saturday. This double elimination tourney takes place on the corner of Walnut and Baylor streets. The cost to enter is $50 per team with the top two teams winning the prize money. All proceeds go toward scholarships for Nocona youth.  Check-in from 9 – 10:00 am. Plus a live performance by the Tin Rivers Band.

 

The Nocona Gas Junkies will be hosting a car and motorcycle show on Saturday, September 16.

There are two categories:

             Cars - Top 10 and Best of Show

             Motorcycle – Top 5 and Best of Show

Registration begins at 9 am through noon in front of the former Horton’s Classic Car Museum

Judging takes place between noon and 2 pm 

Awards presentation at 3 pm.

Come and experience ‘cue, cornhole, cars and small-town fun.
